What do you do at Troy United Methodist Church?
I help plan, coordinate, and  execute the music for both the traditional and contemporary services. I work with the praise team, choir, and accompanist to rehearse music to lead the congregation in worshiping through song during our corporate Sunday gatherings.

When did you begin working at Troy UMC?
I began working at TUMC September 15, 2013.

What is your favorite food?
I'm currently on a whole 30 diet so I can't have any of my favorite foods, but they still remain: Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken, and mashed potatoes and gravy.

What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show... man that's tough. I'll have to say a tie between Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. I religiously watch Supernatural, Arrow, Parenthood, and Once Upon a Time as well. Yes, I'm a comic book and fairy tail nerd.

What was your first job?
My first "real job" was working at the pool the summer I graduated high school. No, don't worry, I didn't cause anyone to stumble with my beach body, I worked the concessions and admissions.

What was your childhood ambition?
I wanted to be the great American composer John Williams as a child. I would watch the Boston Pops orchestra and conduct along with them. Also, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, The Three Musketeers, and John Wayne would've done too.

Who inspires you?
There are a lot of great men that have influenced me throughout my life. My father would be the first, on what it looks like to be a man of God, and how to serve people unconditionally. Matt Crosby one of my choir directors in college has influenced me not only musically but growing my heart to love and serve people.

What makes you laugh?
I have some of the greatest friends (and girlfriend) in the world that are constantly making me laugh at them and myself. My sister is probably tops though for a singular person who can make me laugh. She can make fun of me like no one else can.

For Fun I Enjoy
I love sports. I'm a huge Spurs, Rangers, College football fan. It takes too much out of me to be emotionally invested in the Cowboys anymore, yet I still cheer them on. I also love movies. I love watching a character or a story develop and unfold, Braveheart, Gladiator, Legends of the Fall, The Count of Monte Cristo, and the Lord of the Rings are a few of my favorites. I also enjoy almost any kind of music performance. And from time to time I'll indulge in some video games.

Favorite Bible verse or passage?
My favorite verse would have to be Romans 8:37-39 "37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Just the simple yet powerful and freeing truth, that there is no place that the love and grace of our God does not follow.

What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ?
When I look at the character of Jesus, the word that comes to mind is balance. The way that He was able to be someone who demanded respect, and did not tolerate evil, yet at the same time was able to show an unfathomable amount of grace and humility. That is something that I strive to achieve. To be able to communicate the spectrum who we are and what we stand for is something that requires the balance and grace that Christ had.
